The Whisperer, a gilded skull with feathers and berries

#fragiles are...

small, poetic installations that bring together natural findings and personal objects to reveal the quiet beauty of fragility.

What is #fragiles?

Natural, raw, and full of soul

#fragiles is an ongoing series of small, fragile installations by Nants Schilstra. What started almost accidentally grew into a way of working that had, in a way, always been there.

In her studio, De Wûnderkeamer, she collects and combines found elements from nature with other small objects she keeps or comes across — from twigs and seeds to buttons from her mother's button box. The works become quiet, intimate worlds, somewhere between a cabinet of curiosities and something deeply personal.

Her work doesn't try to be loud or monumental. Instead, it slows things down — inviting you to notice what is fragile, what is easily overlooked, and to find value in exactly that.

Nature's stillness caught in a moment

Every piece tells a tale

Each installation holds a trace of where it came from:
a leaf, a stone, a feather.

Fragile by nature, but quietly enduring.

Take a closer look at the process, the materials, and the spaces they inhabit.
